  7. Announce yourself loudly before entering an occupied home. Knock and announce yourself before entering closed rooms.
  8. Maintain a professional appearance at all times.
  9. Direct questions from other brokers’ clients to their agent or representative.
  10. Communicate clearly and ensure everyone understands real estate terminology.
  11. Respect cultural differences and treat everyone with courtesy.
  12. Meet all deadlines and commitments.
  13. Only promise what you can deliver and follow through on your promises.
  14. Base communication on facts, not opinions.

Respect for Property

  1. Take responsibility for your clients/customers and keep them together when showing a property.
  2. Make reasonable accommodations to provide access to listed properties promptly.
  3. Request access to listed properties in a reasonable and timely manner.
  4. Leave the property as you found it, and report any issues like vandalism to the listing broker immediately.
  5. Respect the seller’s property by not allowing anyone to eat, drink, vape/smoke, leave trash, use the bathroom, or bring pets.
  6. Follow instructions regarding footwear.
  7. Obtain permission before taking photos or videos of properties.

Respect for Peers

  1. Follow the “Golden Rule”: Treat others as you’d like to be treated.
  2. Respond promptly and courteously to communications from other real estate professionals.
  3. Notify the listing broker if there are discrepancies in the listing information.
  4. Provide feedback to the listing agent after showing a property.
  5. Inform showing agents about important details of the property, such as pets or security systems.
  6. Inform about the presence of sellers or listing agents during showings.
  7. Avoid using inappropriate language or endearments.
  8. Do not prospect at other REALTORS®’ open houses or similar events.
  9. Secure property and return keys promptly.
  10. Remember, your actions today impact your reputation and future business.
