- Direct questions from other brokers’ clients to their agent or representative.
- Communicate clearly and ensure everyone understands real estate terminology.
- Respect cultural differences and treat everyone with courtesy.
- Meet all deadlines and commitments.
- Only promise what you can deliver and follow through on your promises.
- Base communication on facts, not opinions.
Respect for Property
- Take responsibility for your clients/customers and keep them together when showing a property.
- Make reasonable accommodations to provide access to listed properties promptly.
- Request access to listed properties in a reasonable and timely manner.
- Leave the property as you found it, and report any issues like vandalism to the listing broker immediately.
- Respect the seller’s property by not allowing anyone to eat, drink, vape/smoke, leave trash, use the bathroom, or bring pets.
- Follow instructions regarding footwear.
- Obtain permission before taking photos or videos of properties.
Respect for Peers
- Follow the “Golden Rule”: Treat others as you’d like to be treated.
- Respond promptly and courteously to communications from other real estate professionals.
- Notify the listing broker if there are discrepancies in the listing information.
- Provide feedback to the listing agent after showing a property.
- Inform showing agents about important details of the property, such as pets or security systems.
- Inform about the presence of sellers or listing agents during showings.
- Avoid using inappropriate language or endearments.
- Do not prospect at other REALTORS®’ open houses or similar events.
- Secure property and return keys promptly.
- Remember, your actions today impact your reputation and future business.
